Ed-Reader App for Android™
Work is in progress for these versions of the App, designed for the busy and "on the move" educational professional who wants to keep up-to-date with the latest education news and information via key organisations on Android smartphones.
Both versions of the Android App will be ideal for leaders and managers, teachers and other professional educators in primary, secondary and special schools in the UK as well as school improvement professionals and parents, guardians and others with an interest in education. The Apps are easy to use and clicking on the links within the listed newsfeeds will open the default web browser and display the full content from the organisation's website and share the URL through two social networks - Facebook and Twitter.
The professional version for Android (2.2 upwards) shares the same functionality as the other Apps within our Ed-Reader series and includes 15 pre-selected RSS feeds from key organisations:
- the BBC's education news*
- the Department of Education (five RSS feeds)*
- The Telegraph newspaper's education news*
- the Office for Standards in Education (three RSS feeds)*
- the National College (three feeds)*
- the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust*
- the Office for Qualifications and Examinations Regulation*
The "slimline" version for Android shares the same functionality as other Apps in our Ed-Reader series but with just three pre-selected RSS feeds via the BBC, the Department for Education (DFE) and the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
