In the final episode for 2009, the Podkids reflect on their learning for the year. They also interview characters from the novel 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl. Ever wanted to hear from an oompa-loompa? Here's your chance! This is the final episode that Mr Fuller will be involved in, since he will be taking up a new position teaching Year 7 students at Landsdale Primary. Mrs Harrington (the Year 2/3 teacher) is now learning how to make podcasts and will hopefully be continuing the show in 2010.

He shares some reflections on the future of technology in Australia, and why schools like Orange Grove Primary are important for Australia's future. Later in the episode, the students share reviews of their favourite books, as a part of Book Week 2009.

The Podkids have been learning about the solar system this term. In this episode, you will learn about all eight planets in the solar system. You will also learn about dwarf planets such as Pluto and Ceres as well as some of the larger moons in our solar system.

The Podkids have been learning about 'celebrations from around the world'. In this podcast episode (recorded live at a school assembly), the students talk about Australia Day, Guy Fawkes Day, Halloween, April Fools Day, the Melbourne Cup, Valentines Day and Easter. Podkids Australia Episode 16 (July 2008)

At the start of 2008, Orange Grove Primary School commenced a one-to-one laptop program for all students in Years 4 - 7. This podcast contains videos that the students produced reflecting on how their school lives have changed since receiving their very own laptop computers. The videos were shown to the school community at the official launch of the laptop program in March of this year. Enjoy!

As part of National Reading Day the Podkids have interviewed Western Australian author Elaine Forrestal. Elaine is the author of the novel Someone Like Me, which will be read by students all over Australia as part of National Reading Day. You can watch the interview by watching this month's special video podcast. The Podkids have also set up an awesome website called 'A Place for Someone Like Me'. We also report on a fire near our school, a delegation of Japanese teachers and our new project: Albert the Blogging Bear. This episode includes an interview with our local member of Parliament, Mr Stuart Henry. He sums up our school really well: "a community based school that is doing things on a global stage".

Our latest episode is a musical bonus show! We recorded the audio from our latest school assembly item in early July. During the assembly, we took our audience on an imaginary trip around the world, travelling to Japan, the USA, Africa and Australia.

The podcast contains several great songs, including "New York, New York", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and "I Still Call Australia Home". We hope you enjoy it!

We have been learning about New York, so Tayla will read you her narrative about New York, and Amelia will share her recipe for a healthy hamburger. We interview the Hon Sheila McHale MLA (Western Australian Minister for Indigenous Affairs; Tourism; Culture and the Arts), as well as Miss Terri Van Zetten from St Mary's College in Broome and Cameron's Dad Julian.

The show also includes Scott and Mathew's review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, a "Simpsons" story by Tyrin and Brandan, an enormous mailbag segment and some original music by Sonny Combs and Kitty Kat Rodeo.
