NAIDOC Week 2010

During the last week of Term 2, James Webb visited OGPS to teach us about about Noongar culture and how to play the didgeridoo. James is well known for his didgeridoo playing abilities and his dance group, which includes his sons. He has visited many countries around the world, sharing his knowledge and entertaining people with song and dance.

Prime Minister of Australia Interview

The staff and students at Orange Grove were very excited to receive a visit from the Prime Minister of Australia on Wednesday 5th May. He learnt more about our One to One Laptop Programme and the fantastic things that the students are doing. The Prime Minister conducted an interview with two junior reporters from the year 5/6/7 class. We hope you enjoy the podcast.

AFL West Coast Eagles Interview

Hi everyone, Welcome to Podkids Australia. My name is Ms Cole and I am the Deputy Principal at Orange Grove Primary School. On Wednesday April 28th, 2010, Will Sullivan, a ruckman from the West Coast Eagles, came to our school to conduct an interview with two junior reporters from the year 5/6/7 class. Lexile Framework

Hi Everyone, Welcome to Podkids 2010. My name is Ryan Powles and I have stepped into the large shoes of Paul Fuller and am teaching Year 4/5 at Orange Grove P.S.  We have only touched on podcasting as I am still learning and so are half of the students. Here though is a year 5 student who learnt last year helping a year 4 student talking about the Lexile Framework that many schools have in place. This will hopefully be the first of others to come in 2010 so keep tuning in.

Podkids Australia Episode 24 (December 2009)

In the final episode for 2009, the Podkids reflect on their learning for the year. They also interview characters from the novel 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl. Ever wanted to hear from an oompa-loompa? Here's your chance! This is the final episode that Mr Fuller will be involved in, since he will be taking up a new position teaching Year 7 students at Landsdale Primary. Mrs Harrington (the Year 2/3 teacher) is now learning how to make podcasts and will hopefully be continuing the show in 2010.
