"gschmo" is very well known in the southern region of Upper-Austria, in the Salzkammergut. It's used in comfortable or funny situations.

Kids love to jump into "drecklatschn". In Upper-Austria we say "drecklatschn", when we mean a puddle full of filthy water.

"For heaven's sake". We've got a similar expression here in Upper-Austria, we say "jessas na". Literally, "jessas na" menas "Jesus, no!".

In Austria we say "Schneizhodan“ to a handkerchief. You can also say "Schneiztüachi". “Schneiz” comes from “schneizn” and means to blow the nose. “hodan” is an old piece of cloth. “Schneizhodan” means “to blow your nose with a piece of old cloth”.
