Having completed the Federalist Papers, which are all available for free on the Americana Phonic website, we now turn to Common Sense by Thomas Paine. Published in January, 1776, this was the best-selling work of 18th century America. George Washington ordered it to be read to all his troops on December 25, 1776, prior to his crossing of the Delaware.
